Being interviewed on RagingElephantsRadio.com, State Sen. Bob Hall (R-Canton RER93) reported that 5,000 illegal invaders are entering Texas per week from south of the Rio Grande. Currently, apprehension is futile with the mass application of the “catch-and-release” policies of the Obama Administration and a weak effort by Texas government.
“The current conditions are as bad, or worse, than they’ve ever been. The numbers that are coming across are exceeding 5,000 a week”, said State Sen. Hall. “It’s not being publicized. And, the federal government is basically in a full catch-and-release mode.”
With essentially no coverage being provided by national and state corporate media, Hall sounded frustrated about the lack of information available to the public. “The last input I had that was unofficial, they (law enforcement) are not even issuing notifications or citations for court appearances for folks coming across the border. It’s basically out of control. Approaching totally out of control.”
Years before being elected to the Texas Senate in 2014, Hall has been keeping a watchful eye on the border situation. His contacts in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) were being developed when he was a Tea Party activists from northeast Texas.
“The issue is a federal law issue. And, we don’t have the authority to handle and enforce federal law. That’s why we have an interstate compact for border security and refugee relocation management that we’ll be introducing in the next session, is so that Texas can take charge of the border and stop this invasion”, said Hall.
According to Hall’s RGV sources in law enforcement and other agencies, drug seizures, human trafficking interventions, and gang activities are up. A statistical breakdown of what percentage of the border invaders belong to the category of “criminal element” was not available to the state senator.
Current Texas officeholders, including Gov. Greg Abbott, are quick to point out how much money is being appropriated for border security. In a press gaggle during a summer 2015 political rally in Houston following the 84th Texas Legislative Session, Abbott told RER’s Doc Greene that “Texas is spending a billion dollars for border security”. That’s .5% of total Texas government on-the-book expenditures.
Continuing within the interview, Hall stated, “It’s (the border) wide open.”
