Earlier RagingElephantsRadio.com reported that RERresearch discovered that during the 2012 general election cycle, the Republican Party of Texas made a campaign contribution of $19,884.75 to State Rep. Sarah Davis (R-Houston RER42). Steve Munisteri was the Chairman. Tom Mechler, current interim Chair and a candidate for a full term at this month’s convention, was the Treasurer.
This was repeated in 2014 with donations totaling $18,900.54.
As a reminder from our first report on this violation of the RPT platform, here’s the actual language of the 2012 and 2014 RPT platforms:
Party Candidates and the Platform on Protecting Innocent Human Life – We implore our Party to support, financially or with in-kind contributions, only those candidates who support protecting innocent human life. Further, we strongly encourage the State Republican Executive Committee to hear and recognize the longstanding and overwhelmingly consistent voice of the grass roots and revise its by-laws to make this action binding on our Party.
Candidate Support– The Republican Party of Texas should provide financial support only to those candidates who support the right to life planks.
Sarah Davis is the very visible, vocal, and feisty pro-abortion and pro-homosexual movement state rep from Houston. She is endorsed by Planned Parenthood and the pro-homosexual movement PAC, Equality Texas. These endorsements were gyms for the national corporate media.
According to Texas Ethics Commission (TEC) Reports provided to us by Larry Korkmas of TFIRE (Texans for Immigration Reduction and Enforcement), Republican Party of Texas made three separate donations to Davis in the 2014 general election cycle.
- August 11, 2014 – Under the name Republican Party of Texas, $881.72 for postage for direct mail.
- August 14, 2014 – Under the name Texas Republican Representatives Campaign, $16,500 for a survey.
- October 6, 2014 – Under the name of Republican Party of Texas, $1518.82 for printing of direct mail.
In the very same TEC campaign report of Sarah Davis, are contributions from Planned Parenthood and other neo-morality organizations. In this particular report, Davis received a total of $4,177.29.
The Republican Party of Texas gave more money to Davis than Planned Parenthood.
On October 3, 2014, Planned Parenthood donated $285.16 for staff time. Three days later, on October 6, the Texas GOP donation of $1518.82 for printing of direct mail is reported to have been made.
Mechler was the treasurer. He sees all the checks that go out of the party office. He sees the accounts and party ledgers. His signature most likely was on the check that was sent to Davis.
