Mexican drug cartel leader killed during 3-hour shootout

A three-hour shootout and ambulance hijacking in a public plaza in Buenaventura, Chihuahua, near Juarez, left the leader of the La Línea cartel dead on Sunday.

Rafael Chavira Rentería, who goes by the alias “El Borrego,” was killed by gunmen from the Sinaloa Cartel during the shootout, according to Mexican news site Proceso.
