Elementary school teacher arrested on public intoxication charge

An Arlington ISD teacher was arrested Friday after her co-workers suspected that she was drunk at work.

Megan Updegraff, 28, a first-grade teacher at West Elementary in Grand Prairie, has been placed on administrative leave while the district investigates, spokeswoman Leslie Johnston said.

No children were around when she was arrested​ on a public intoxication charge​.

Updegraff has been a teacher at West Elementary since 2012.
