List of Gasoline Companies who DO NOT import oil from the Middle East

Image: fuelfreedom.org

Gas rationing in the 70’s worked even though we grumbled about it.
It might even have been good for us!

Are you aware that the Saudis are boycotting American products?
In addition, they are gouging us on oil prices. Shouldn’t we return the favor?
Can’t we take control of our own destiny and let these giant oil importers know who REALLY generates their profits, their livings? How about leaving American Dollars in America and reduce the ……. read more here.

Lopsided election puts political target on property taxes

Image: patch.com

When property tax relief was approved by 86 percent of voters in last week’s election, you can bet Texas politicians noticed.

Calling the lopsided result a mandate for additional action, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick vowed to make property tax reform a priority when the Legislature convenes in 14 months. Any reasonable idea will be on the table, Patrick said, although his initial concepts focus on reining in budget increases for local governments, particularly cities and counties.

On ‘Sanctuary Cities,’ House Reaction Is Inaction

REUTERS/Shannon Stapleton

After recent exposure for killing immigration enforcement initiatives over the past several sessions, and doing nothing on the issue since it heated up this summer, the Texas House is belatedly responding to citizens’ frustrations with “sanctuary cities” by holding a hearing.

But even in their show-efforts, the coalition of Democrats and liberal Republicans who run the state’s lower chamber are using the language of the left to ……….. read more here.

Texas Independence Resolution Filed With State Republican Party

Image: Amazon

While the TNM’s petition campaign to put a referendum on the March 2016 primary ballot has drawn accusations of “back door” politics, this week shows that we are not afraid to take a more direct approach.

The TNM’s current petition campaign uses a never-before-used section of the Texas Election Code to, by petition, force a resolution on the Republican Party primary ballot. However, for years, resolutions of this nature have been ……. read more here

Illegal Immigrants Really DO Expect to Get Welfare in the USA

(Photo Credit: Joe Raedle / Getty Images)

While the number of undocumented migrants from Central America sneaking in Texas is down compared to last year, they’re still coming, and new revelations lay the blame squarely at the White House.

In reports of Immigration Agent interviews with migrant families, obtained by the House Judiciary Committee, the vast majority said they snuck across the border because they believed they would be allowed to stay here and collect public benefits. U.S. Rep. Lamar Smith, R-San Antonio, who sits on the committee, blames the push for sanctuary cities.

Report: More than half of immigrants on welfare

Photo: USA Today

According to a study by the Center for Immigration Studies, a majority of immigrant-led households receive some form of welfare benefit.

More than half of the nation’s immigrants receive some kind of government welfare, a figure that’s far higher than the native-born population’s, according to a report to be released Wednesday.

About 51% of immigrant-led households receive at least one kind of welfare benefit, including ……… read more here.

Threatened With Jail

Greetings from Corsicana, where tonight I learned just how big a thug State Rep. Byron Cook really is. And how scared he is of the truth.

Despite flooding rains and strong winds, people rallied outside Cook’s campaign kick off. Cook is the “Republican” who killed a ban on sanctuary cities, thwarted pro-life reforms, and protected labor unions.

According to the Corsicana Police Department, there were 70-75 people peacefully rallying against Byron Cook’s record. We had little kids and grandmothers, a retired cop and a homemaker. These were …….. read more here.

Internal Document Reveals Cook Campaign Kickoff Disaster

Image: volunteermemphis.org

An internal Byron Cook campaign document acquired by Texas Scorecard contradicts rosy public statements made by Cook’s campaign on social media.

The document shows event organizers planned and paid for food for 450 people to attend the campaign kick-off event at the Corsicana Country Club on Friday, yet they failed to achieve even a quarter of that number. Despite listing more than 270 “supporters” on an advertisement for the event that ran in the Corsicana Daily Sun, sources inside the …… read more here.
