Heidi interviewed Tom Mabry, the President of Responsible Spending Coalition of Texas, who is on the front lines of fighting the mega-bond in Frisco ISD. The experiences he relayed have mirrored what we’ve faced in other bond and school board elections around Texas. But it still raised Heidi’s hackles and she devoted the rest of the program to emphasizing the paramount importance of getting as many people as possible to have a voice in the elections. The school bonds represent the lion’s share of Texas’ overwhelming local debt, and the lion’s share of all statewide spending. The people MUST vote in these elections! And they must demand accountability of the election process.

School district elections have begun – you MUST vote. School districts collect the lion’s share of your property taxes and expend the lion’s share of the state’s budget – therefore you must have a say in the trustees on the school boards and the mega-bonds flourishing all over the state.
Another meeting with Lt. Governor Dewhurst has produced legislation to move ISD elections to November, and Dewhurst has vowed to bring it to the floor for a record vote, regardless of the vibe in the Senate.
Houston Mayor Annise Parker is forcing through an LGBT special rights ordinance, which is aimed directly at prosecuting legal war on individuals and businesses who adhere to convictions of faith and principle.

Each October you receive a love letter from the county tax office (in the form of a tax bill) and in April you may receive one from the appraisal district (in the form of a notice of appraisal increase).* If you need a little *less love*, you need to learn how to “Effectively Protest Your Property Value”. This class was prepared and presented by Galveston County Tax Assessor-Collector, Cheryl Johnson, who travels all over her county teaching citizens how to reduce their property tax burden. What she can teach you is applicable to all homeowners in Texas.

The political response is pouring out about the BLM land grab along the Red River – more and more Texan politicians are calling for legal action to protect Texan landowners in the region. All sternly worded letters, mind you, no real action.
Sen. Ken Paxton, candidate for AG, has launched an internal review of his disclosures to state regulatory authorities and the Texas Ethics Commission to determine whether he violated any laws by failing to report several business and professional relationships.
Frisco ISD has padded their $775 million mega-bond package with 50% more spending than they have spent on similar construction projects in the past. Where is all that extra money going?

In the first hour, Jon Cassidy of Watchdog.org discussed with Heidi the ongoing UT-Regent legislative wrangle involving prominent legislators and the UT Board of Regents. Independent groupies have entered the fray to deter transparency and accountability, and the histrionics of the politicians involved makes them look guilty of influence peddling and bribery.
In the second hour, Dr. Thomas Lindsay of Texas Public Policy Foundation discussed the greater impact of the stifling of critical thinking and constructive criticism on higher education in Texas. He also offered some solutions.
April 21, 2014
Heidi’s guest, LouAnn Anderson of WatchDogWire.com, revealed how you can research the bond elections proliferating across the state. “As election day nears, taxpayers should be aware that tactics not in taxpayers’ best interests are routinely used by governments seeking new tax dollars. Savvy voters should scrutinize bond figures to determine if they are principal only or if they include the interest.”
In the second hour, Heidi pointed out that appraisals on property taxes are skyrocketing across the state. Have you checked the appraised value on your home? Did you get a notice of increase? Most Texans with house values over $80,000 will get an increase this year and in the years to come. What should you do about it?
April 18, 2014
Heidi hosted a panel discussion with Tanya Robertson, Mary Huls, and Geri Bentley about the Senate hearing they testified at concerning education bonds.
Have you ever wondered why/how Texans keep approving hundreds of millions or even billions of dollars in debt for their ISDs? Did you know that the ISDs run their own mega-bond elections? Did you know that the playback ratio is about 10:1 – our children will have to pay back $10 for every $1 we borrow today? Who would enslave their children and grandchildren to that kind of debt – and why do Texans keep doing it??! Well, it certainly helps that the beneficiaries of the mega-bonds – the ISDs – run their own elections, all but guaranteeing the outcome! Find out more! If you’re not listenin’, you’re not learnin’!
Also, in the second hour, Heidi interviewed Charles Smith of Southern Conservative – an up and coming organization combining activism and capitalism.
Don’t miss this chock full 2 hours of broadcast activism on RER.

Dave Mundy discussed the SBOE’s hearing about mandatory Mexican-American studies in Texas schools. Also, Chip Darby of Freedom1300 discussed the Lumberton ISD’s hiring and retention of a transvestite substitute teacher.
What happened in both of these situations? What direction is public education in Texas heading. Listen, learn, and ACT – right here on RER.

With the help of her invited guest, Heidi exposed TX Senator Jose Rodriguez for his anti-Texan agenda at the Senate hearing on Border Security. A resident of that region, George – a Texas rancher and CHL instructor, called in to tell the truth about pervasive corruption in City and County politics, extending up to and beyond State officials!
In the second hour, Heidi played the exciting, inspiring audio from gun rights activists at the same hearing. You will hear Jorde Landivar, Jay Stang (Oathkeepers), Amy Hedtke, Kathy Perkins (Moms With Guns Demand Action), a letter from 1LT Patrick Cook of Fort Hood, Justin DeLosh (C.A.T.I) and Rer’s own Doc Greene! Don’t miss their testimony!
April 9, 2014
Heidi interviewed Dwayne Stovall and had a challenging Constitutional discussion about the incorporation doctrine concerning the Bill of Rights. Do we believe in State sovereignty or do we accept the nationalist view that our rights are regulated at the national level. Nationalism has creeped in to erode our State sovereignty.
In the second hour, Heidi played CJ Grisham’s (or Open Carry Texas) entire testimony at the Senate Hearing.
April 8, 2014
Heidi had Mary Huls and Doc Vickers of Texas Border Volunteers on the show to discuss the Senate Hearing on Texas border security. Heidi had a lot of audio of the testimony itself, including the showdowns between the uninvited Senator Rodriguez who dominated the discussion after every abbreviated statement by a border security advocate. We were outnumbered 1 to 5, but we held our own! Tune in to hear the Senate testimony for yourself.

Patriot Shar of Texans Against Smart Meters gave an update on their initiatives underway to push back the PUC, which has well over-stepped its bounds in overcharging Texans who choose to keep an analog meter. Plus, there have been recent developments in the medical ramifications of the radio magnetic waves that folks need to know about.

School bond elections across Texas are right around the corner, on May 10th. Do you know what to expect? How much is your ISD asking for, how much debt are they already carrying? Who are the big gorillas of school debt in Texas? Heidi gives you the background and the resources to be be “in the know.”
What about the transportation proposition scheduled for the November election? How is Texas shale oil production impacting the issue? Why does our legislature keep trying to divert funding away from the Rainy Day Fund for priority issues like transportation, when we have a healthy surplus? Don’t tolerate the Lege’s irresponsibility anymore! Heidi discusses on RER.

Rick Perry is changing his tune on Tesla! Score 1 for free markets! Let’s hope he will follow through as Texas stands to possibly lose the 6500 jobs, 1000 acre, $5 billion, lithium ion battery gigafactory for Tesla’s hi-end electrical cars. It’ll be interesting considering how much he (and the Texas Legislature) has been paid by the Texas Auto Dealers Association to ban the sale of vehicles from factory to consumer.
Illegals aliens happily turn themselves in to BP or ICE, knowing they will be released into our communities in short order. They don’t bother to show up to any court-ordered hearings. They don’t need to, there is ZERO enforcement going on. Obama’s executive actions have made it virtually impossible to remove or deport anyone who illegally enters; and ICE agents are threatened with prosecution if they try to enforce the law!
March 25, 2014
Democrats are alleging election fraud, both electronic and mail-in ballot, in multiple races across Texas. Anomalies, inconsistencies, and outright fraud are coming to light. If you think such outcomes are relegated only to the Democrat primaries, you’ve got another think coming. Tune in to find out how elections were tampered with in the primaries.

One of the nation’s most insightful voices on immigration, Dr. Stephen Steinlight, joined Heidi on RER. Dr. Steinlight is a Senior Policy Analyst at the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) in Washington, DC. He focuses on ascending trends in immigration and immigration policy, America’s changing demography and culture, the politics of immigration, the impact of immigration on the nation’s social cohesion, and the consequences of massive low-skill immigration on America’s most vulnerable groups. He is also concerned with the nexus between immigration and national security in an age of Jihadist terrorism and significant Muslim migration to Western Europe and the United States.

The free market is not FREE in Texas! Tesla Motors, with their entrepreneurial business model of manufacturer to consumer sales, is not welcome in Texas. So quit scorning Chris Christie out of NJ for advocating for free markets on the one hand and shutting them down on the other – Texas has already beaten him to the punch! Now Texas stands to lose commercial space travel (SpaceX) and a $5 billion Tesla battery manufacturing plant because why would Tesla want to do business with Texas? The law of unintended consequences – this is what happens when governance is bought and sold by special interests, Austin is for sale to the highest bidder.

Lawsuits abound as Republicans jockey with Democrats for political donations and political influence. Caught in the middle of the drama – regular ole Texans.
March 10, 2014
Maria Espinoza-Lyng, of www.TheRemembranceProject.org, brought the news that an organized effort is underway to bring detainees back into the country after their proper deportation. Furthermore, illegal aliens and smugglers are successfully and openly exploiting the loose ORR (Office of Refugee Resettlement) policy of reuniting unaccompanied minors with their families at taxpayer expense. Such policy and the expectation of Democrat-Republican sponsored amnesty are exacerbating the problem. The numbers of unaccompanied minors apprehended on the border are tripling with little abatement in sight.

Senator Cornyn is facing some ethics investigations; Gov Rick Perry’s speech at CPAC; some abortuaries in Texas have had to close because they could not meet health and safety standards; Obamacare is forcing some Texas hospitals to fire nurses out of necessity.
